Let’s talk about your headshot.... Is it giving “2019 conference lanyard” energy? Does your headshot look like it belongs in your high school yearbook? Is it a photo you took on a good day, in good light, and have been using ever since “just until I get around to it”?
You’re not alone. Most people I meet know their headshot needs updating. They just haven’t got a spare day, a big budget, or the nerve to stand in front of a camera.
So I’ve made it easier.
No more trawling through old hard drives for a photo you’ve outgrown. One quick session with me at my gorgeous Collingwood Studio in inner city Melbourne and you’re set.
What are Headshot Days?
Headshot Days are short-session headshot days held every month at my light-filled studio in Collingwood, Melbourne. Each session is 20 minutes, so you can pop in, refresh your photos and get on with your day.
They run monthly, so you can choose the date that suits you best. You’ll find all upcoming dates on the booking page.
Big photoshoots are wonderful, and I’ve done plenty over my 25 years behind the camera. But sometimes you don’t need a full production. You just need a great, current photo that looks like you on your best day.
My studio is on the ground floor and easily accessibility. (this was a key factor in me choosing this space).

This is the bit people worry about most, so let me put your mind at rest. You don’t need to know your good side. You don’t need to know what to do with your face. You just need to turn up.
I’ll guide you through every moment, from where to stand to what to do with your shoulders, until you’re comfortable and the photos look like the real, confident you. Nothing awkward or cringe, this is a time to feel seen in a supported and safe way, whatever your personality.
Come as you are. I’ll take care of the rest.
Why a real headshot beats an AI one - everytime!
Let’s be real, people want to see and know the real you. Now more than ever, we are wanting to connect with each other on a human level. I don’t want to look at your photo and wonder if it’s AI or not.
AI headshots have a habit of smoothing, tweaking and “improving” until you look like a slightly more generic cousin. Then you turn up to the meeting, the event or the video call, and the person across from you does a tiny double take. Not the first impression you were going for.
Your headshot is often the first thing people see before they meet you. When more and more of what’s online is generated, a real photo of a real person says something powerful: this is who you’ll be working with. That builds trust before you’ve said a word.
A real photoshoot also captures what AI can’t fake: your actual smile, the way you look when you’re relaxed, the aspects of your personality that make people remember you.
Plus, you get a human (hello!) guiding you through it, so you leave looking like the best version of yourself, not a different person entirely.
Where you can use your new photos
Think of your new headshot as a hard worker. It’s not a photo that sits in a folder looking pretty. It’s the one that shows up before you do: on your website, in someone’s inbox, on a speaker line-up, in a pitch deck. When someone’s deciding whether to book, hire or buy from you, it’s often the first thing they see.
A fresh, current photo that actually looks like you makes every one of those moments easier. You’ll also have 5 retouched images to choose from, so you can pick the right one for each job.
Here’s where your new images will earn their keep:
Your website
Your LinkedIn profile
Social media
Marketing materials
Speaker bios, proposals and email signatures
Anywhere else you need to show up professionally
Bringing your team?
Headshot Days work well for teams too. If you’ve got a few people who all need updated photos, this is the easy way to get it done.
Book consecutive sessions for 2 to 4 people and head in together. Each person gets their own relaxed 20-minute session, so there’s no herding the whole office into one room and no one standing awkwardly at the back while someone else has their turn. Come in as a group, take it in turns, and be back at your desks before anyone notices you’ve gone.
It’s also a great way to get a consistent look. When everyone’s photographed in the same studio, with the same light and the same style, your team page, proposals and LinkedIn profiles finally look like they belong together. No more mismatched photos from five different years, three different backgrounds and one questionable cropped wedding picture.
Great for:
New hires who need a photo for the website (and you want it to match your existing shots)
Small teams or leadership groups updating their profiles
Showing the people behind the business on all your comms
Need something bigger, or want the shoot to come to your workplace? Get in touch and we can plan a dedicated team shoot that suits your people and your schedule.
